Visit by Her Excellency the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the PAGGW headquarters

Her Excellency the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development (MEDD) of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Chair of the Council of Ministers of the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall (PAGGW), paid a visit to the Agency’s headquarters on Tuesday 18 February 2020.
The Minister was accompanied by a delegation comprising Mr. Abdoul Mamadou BARRY, Secretary-General of the MEDD, Mr. Mohamed Yahya Ould LAFDAL, Chargé de mission at the MEDD, Mr. Sidi Mohamed LEHLOU, Director-General of the National Agency of the Great Green Wall of Mauritania, Mr. Yely DIAWARA, Deputy Director-General of the ANGMV-RIM, Mr. Ethmane Ould BOUBAKAR, Director of Nature Protection, and Mr. Mohamed El Hassen KHOUNA Director of Coastal Protected Areas.
As part of this visit, the delegation held a working session with the Executive Secretary and his entire staff.
The Executive Secretary first welcomed the distinguished guest and her delegation and gave a brief presentation of the Great Green Wall Initiative. This introduction was followed by two presentations by the technical departments (the Administrative and Financial Directorate and the Scientific and Technical Directorate).
