The Executive Secretary of the PAGGW meets with the Ambassador of Sudan to Mauritania

Nouakchott, 8 June 2017 — His Excellency Mr Karib Allah Hadar Ali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, received on Monday 5 June at his chancellery in Nouakchott the Executive Secretary of the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall, Prof. Abdoulaye Dia. For this courtesy visit to the Ambassador of Sudan, Prof. Abdoulaye Dia was accompanied by the Scientific and Technical Director of the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall, Mr Abakar Mahamat Zougoulou.
The discussions focused on issues relating to the state of implementation of Sudan’s Great Green Wall component, as well as on the matter of establishing the Great Green Wall Carbon Bank, entrusted by the Heads of State and Government to the Republic of Sudan, in conjunction with the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall. The various dignitaries also exchanged views on the upcoming Summit of Heads of State and Government.
